The Arts Council of Greater Palatka is a 501-C3 non-profit corporation and the designated Local Arts Agency (LAA) for Putnam County.
Our Mission To advocate the role of arts and culture in Putnam County, provide arts education to both in and out of school learners, and to continue to enrich the quality of life in our community through the cultivation, presentation, and preservation of cultural facilities and events.
History
In February of 1975 The Arts Council of Greater Palatka was incoporated as a 501-C3 non-profit coporation. In April of that year, the Putnam County Commissioners and the State of Florida Division of Cultural Affairs recognized The Arts Council of Greater Palatka as the official County representative of the arts for Putnam County.
The Larimer Building at 216 Reid Street, Palatka, FL, has been the home to the Arts Council since 1992, at which time, the former library was renamed from The Larimer Memorial Libary to The Larimer Arts Center
